OR
I observed two surgeries last week, a STSG to the hand and an amputation of a forearm as well as a hemi soleus rotation flap with a STSG to the leg. Man oh man so super intense and amazing at the same time. How wonderful that we have people who are skilled enough and want to spend their days (all day) at the top of their game to perform these potentially life threatening procedures! I for one could never be a surgeon. Beyond being is aw of the ease at which these surgeons took to cutting at a live body and putting it back together, I learned so much about how and why my patients heal after surgery.
